Mixing types
- Agitated buffer – More an agitation than a real mix
- Horizontal single shaft mixer – the most used mixer (high speed accurate mixing, easy to clean)
- Horizontal single shaft + fluidizing paddle – Most flexible solution. Suitable for 90% of product and a very fast mixing time (30 to 60s)
- Horizontal twin shaft mixer – for fragile product (chocolate inclusion, cereals)
- Vertical twin shaft mixer – variation of horizontal twin shaft mixer with motor on top
- Conical mixer – specific case only (e.g. fatty product)
- Vessel rotation – for very fragile product
